Successful Volunteer Day

About 20 volunteers and a bunch of power tools showed up on Saturday morning to subdivide the existing beds and put in three new ones.

A few hard-working kids labored at moving a large pile of dirt into the garden, manning wheel barrels twice their size, but still found time to discover a baby garter snake slithering through the beds.  april 2013 work day 009
Power tools were not limited to the men of the group, one of the youngest volunteers wheeled his first Skill Saw after properly marking the line he was to cut.  One women expressed her enthusiasm about being allowed to use the power tools.  Everyone was willing to share the tools regardless of age or gender at this work day event.

Our hard labor was rewarded with hot soup and ham and cheese sandwiches as we rehashed our successful day of accomplishments.
